Green ICANN will actively partner with major cloud providers to implement 24/7 carbon-free energy matching for DNS registries. Rather than buying traditional carbon offsets that mask fossil fuel usage after the fact, this framework will mandate that every megawatt-hour consumed by a registry is matched in real-time by clean energy generated on the exact same local grid.
